I agree.  But this may be needed so that the client is sure that the table is created.
I have heard of a use case where every day a table is created and the same is disable and
dropped on the next day before the next creation of table.

So i thought our apis should enable them to know if a table is created properly or not.  
Making it as an optional parameter is also fine with me.
