Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-7734) Fix TestFromClientSide#testFilterAcrossMultipleRegions
Date Fri, 01 Feb 2013 06:13:12 GMT

Manukranth Kolloju commented on HBASE-7734:

Thanks for pointing that out. Scan prefetching was introduced in [HBASE-6874] Implement prefetching
for scanners. This has caused some regression in the test TestFromClientSide. The changes
in RegionScanner.nextRows have not accounted the Filter's state in order to hint the client
side scan to stop scanning. This might cause unexpected behavior which was demonstrated by
this test case.
Hence the title Fix TestFromClientSide. But the essential idea was to fix the code to make
the test pass and be consistent with the versions earlier than [HBASE-6874].

> In RegionScanner.nextRows, checking filter's done value to ensure that null, which was
the expected value by the client, was returned. This check was removed when ScanPrefetcher
was introduced.
