Lars yes that is what confusing me too...  Passing the index looks very odd....  As of now
in our implementation we have created the a new array and pass the mutation in that batch..
 Yes agree with you just for hook recreating the array and dealing with some steps is expensive
:(   I will make a simple perf test with just passing the existing array with start and end
index... Just for testing and will see how much diff it will make..  This is a critical path
that is my worry from beginning.. :(
