    Resolution: Duplicate

Marking as duplicate of HBASE-4540 and closing
> Don't unconditionally delete UNASSIGNED ZNode for a region.
> -----------------------------------------------------------
> Key: HBASE-4727
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-4727
> Project: HBase
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: master
> Affects Versions: 0.89.20100924
> Reporter: Madhuwanti Vaidya
> Assignee: Madhuwanti Vaidya
> Priority: Minor
> Unconditionally deleting an UNASSIGNED ZNode when master processes RS2ZK_REGION_OPENED
(from the toDo queue) for a region has caused multiply assigned regions or unassigned regions.
One proposed fix is to check whether the ZNode is actually in the state RS2ZK_REGION_OPENED
before deleting it. Another fix is to not delete the ZNode at all.
