Jason Dai commented on HBASE-6312:
----------------------------------

It is a fairly simple scenario:
1) The customer set hfile.block.cache.size to 2GB, and finds out his ~1.8GB of data can never
completely fit in cache
2) He asked how to fix this, and basically we can say that you need to set hfile.block.cache.size
to ~2.35GB
3) And then he asked why and what's the guideline for setting hfile.block.cache.size, and
we need to explain about the acceptable factor, which is considered to be implementation details
and not exposed.
This does not seem to be a very good user experience IMO.

> Some of our customers found that tuning the BlockCache eviction thresholds made test
results different in their test environment. However, those thresholds are not configurable
in the current implementation. The only way to change those values is to re-compile the HBase
source code. We wonder if it is possible to make them configurable.
