I wouldn't have thought of Keith's suggestion, though.
I was looking where we could document it and I see we already documented it here: http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#scan

But the example is *wrong*... Sigh...
Cannot do ("row" +  new byte[] {0}), that will just write something like "row[B@4830c221]"
