Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-4572) Multithread compaction in regionserver
Date Tue, 11 Oct 2011 18:09:12 GMT

Karthik Ranganathan commented on HBASE-4572:

Compactions are already multi-threaded (I am talking about 0.92 and trunk), see CompactSplitThread.java
and look for conf settings like "hbase.regionserver.thread.compaction.large" and "hbase.regionserver.thread.compaction.small".
There are now 2 queues - a queue for large compactions and another for small ones (defined
by the amount of data it has to read in order to compact). Each can be serviced by a configurable
number of threads.

Does this work for you?
