Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-2195) Support cyclic replication
Date Thu, 01 Sep 2011 05:56:10 GMT

Lars Hofhansl commented on HBASE-2195:

(Comment overlap.)

Grouping edits is good idea.
The originating cluster will always just have WALEdits (unless we write WALEdits and ReplEdits).
At the first replicated cluster we'd then write ReplEdits, which also have to function as
WALEdits (unless we write both again).

At the same time I like the simplicity of WAL shipping and just creating Puts and Deletes
at the replication site to deploy the changes.

> We need to support cyclic replication by using the cluster id of each HlogKey and stop
replicating when it goes back to the original cluster.
