The 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Not a host:port pair: abc.com,60000,1308866059399'
is probably because of move away from HSA toward ServerName.  Do you have the stack trace?
 Its probably preventing the nice message Todd talks about above from popping up in the client.
