Subject [jira] Commented: (HBASE-1685) [stargate] package and wiki documentation
Date Fri, 24 Jul 2009 06:12:14 GMT

Andrew Purtell commented on HBASE-1685:

bq. On WAR, I can help with that. I just tried it under tomcat.

On hbase-1690, generally, basic authentication (as opposed to "BASIC AUTH") and access checking
is a feature supplied by the container (jetty or tomcat).
I don't think hbase-1690 need be done for 0.20.0, especially if gross webapp access is good

The intent of HBASE-1690 is to back authentication with a HBase table, or expanded on in HBASE-1697,
through an innate access control facility. Agree the former is not needed now and the latter
is totally out of scope for 0.20.0.
