Subject [jira] Commented: (HBASE-1304) New client server implementation of how gets and puts are handled.

Erik Holstad commented on HBASE-1304:

We wanted to keep Result as a client side Class, but it gets complicated when you are using
them in MapReduce jobs and things like that, so that is why we added the creation of it
on the server side, do agree that we should try to not do this if we can avoid it.

TimeRanges are used for for gets and scans where you would compare the times with times that
comes from KeyValues that are in bytes, the other place we compare time is on the ttl
check, this time is created once, so we don't have to do if for every compare.
I can't say how much this is going to effect total performance but I think we should try to
make everything as fast as possible, don't really see the downside in comparing them as byte
instead of longs.
