Subject [jira] Commented: (HBASE-1070) Up default index interval in TRUNK and branch
Date Sat, 20 Dec 2008 04:03:44 GMT

stack commented on HBASE-1070:

Andrew suggest going back to the hadoop default of 128 for now. That makes for indices that
are 4x smaller than current. As part of this issue, will try and measure what difference
this makes in access times. At least in 0.19.0, perhaps little with blockcache in place.

> Key: HBASE-1070
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-1070
> Project: Hadoop HBase
> Issue Type: Task

> Fix For: 0.19.0, 0.18.2
> See tail of hbase-900. Index interval has biggest effect on RAM. The PE test with its
1k cell size is fine w/ the current default of 32 but cells smaller than this are common and
these fellas run into memory issues (See recent discussion on list).
