I've attached a patch that is one possible solution.

in Hbase.thrift
Adds a struct MutationBatch. A MutationBatch contains a row and a list of Mutations.
Adds to the Hbase thrift service. applyBatches(byte[] tableName, list<MutationBatch>
batches), and a timestamped version.

in ThriftServer
add the implementation of applyBatches, which just loops over the batches and calls mutateRows
for each.

This patch also changes ThriftServer where it uses ArrayList, it now uses List, as that is
what the new versions of thrift generate. So all the stuff in the thrift.generated folder
would need to be regenerated from the thrift file. I generated them using thrift-20080411p1.
