Bryan, I wouldn't mind using HTable.getMetadata(), but I wouldn't have known to look there
if not for this issue.  From a new-user perspective, it seems reasonable to expect that functions
like HBaseAdmin.listTables() and HTable.getMetadata() would live in the same class.
