Geir,

Sure, performance is important, and we of course must be careful
on the way the Logging is used, and use it only if necessary.
Also, we must make sure to set the logging levels correctly
so that nothing is logged by default.

Removing Logging at all looks too extreme to me.

I don't mind the dependency as much as I worry about the performance and

the idea that our classlibraries might yammer out to stdout or logging 
infrastructure to the surprise of the users....
