Subject [jira] Commented: (HARMONY-6179) Inconsistent compiler behaviour for generics compared with Sun Java
Date Sat, 25 Apr 2009 22:53:30 GMT

Sebb commented on HARMONY-6179:

I've just downloaded the file "latest-harmony-jdk-windows-x86.zip" from http://harmony.apache.org/download.cgi
in the section "Snapshot Builds for Harmony 5.0" but that is a lot older than the 5.0M9.

Not sure how to get the compiler from trunk, the web-site page

refers to "http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/harmony/enhanced/trunk/" but that appears to be

BTW, the page also refers to using SVN 1.1.x, which is way out of date.

> Project: Harmony
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: JDK

> Attachments: TestGeneric1.java, TestGeneric2.java, TestGeneric3.java
> The Harmony javac compiler seems to be rather more lenient than the Sun Java 1.5 compiler
with regard to how it handles some types of generics.
> See the attached samples. They all compile OK on Harmony.
> TestGeneric1.java - compiles OK on Sun
> TestGeneric2.java - 2 compilation errors on Sun
> TestGeneric3.java - 2 compilation errors on Sun
> See comments in the files which give the error output.
