Tony Wu commented on HARMONY-5465:
----------------------------------

This difference has been reported to ICU before, refer to http://bugs.icu-project.org/trac/ticket/6096
ICU's spec claimed that it should be upper case for the variant so they refused to change.

We can work around it if necessary.

> The following test passes on RI, but fails on Harmony:
> -------------------------
> import java.util.Locale;
> class LocaleVariant {
>     public static void main(String[] args) {
>         Locale p = new Locale("en","GB", "Custom_LNX");
>         if(p.getVariant().equals("Custom_LNX")) {
>             System.out.println("PASSED");
>         } else {
>             System.out.println("FAILED: Custom_LNX != " + p.getVariant());
>         }
>     }
> }
> -------------------------
