Subject [jira] Updated: (HARMONY-5079) [drlvm][classloader] Failure running Eclipse TPTP plugin
Date Fri, 01 Feb 2008 21:29:08 GMT

Chris Elford updated HARMONY-5079:
----------------------------------

    Priority: Minor (was: Major)

Lowering priority to minor.

Thanks for giving me more details about the offending component! That helped... I have found
that Harmony M4 works with the Eclipse TPTP 4.5 candidates (new version in development for
release with Ganymede in June). I actually care more about that than I do about the TPTP
4.4 version.

The plugin that contains the problem component was split up recently in the TPTP project with
half going to one subproject and another half going to another subproject. As a result, the
code is now a bit different and looks to not exhibit the problem.

I'm downloading the candidates for TPTP 4.4.1 (patch to be released next month) to see if
that will work as well.

In any event, lowering priority since I have a workaround. It would be a good issue to remain
aware of in case it occurs in another workload later.

Thanks!!!

> (1) Download/install Eclipse TPTP 4.4.0.3 (plugin for Eclipse 3.3)
> -- Easiest to install all in one from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/tptp/4.4.0.3/TPTP-4.4.0.3/tptp.runtime.allInOne.win32.win32.x86-TPTP-4.4.0.3.zip
> (2) launch eclipse with Harmony
> -- I tend to do:
> set ECLIPSE_HOME=C:\utils\eclipse33\eclipse
> %ECLIPSE_HOME%\eclipse.exe -vm c:\java\hre50m3\bin\java -vmargs -Xms512M -Xmx512M
> (3) Open TPTP perspective (profiling and logging)
> -- window->open perspective->other perspective->Profiling and Logging
> (4) Note the "problem opening perspective" dialogue
> Note this only happens with running with Harmony. log attached.
