The bug reproduces in release mode only.

It seems to be a bug of gcc 4.1.0
In release mode the following code produces 'd'  not equal to 'value'. In debug mode they
are equal.
    jlong v = *((jlong*)&value);
    jdouble d = *((jdouble*)&v);
