Gregory Shimansky commented on HARMONY-4006:

I checked attached patches. Both on Linux and Windows everything seems to be working ok for
me, eclipse launcher started on harmony without any crashes. I used original eclipse launcher
and DLL from eclipse 3.3 package with VM patched for name decorations and used backward slashes
on win32 to avoid crash in the launcher.

I think the only problem that is left to be resolved is CUNIT tests that are linked directly
against harmonyvm.dll. On win32 they import functions like JNI_CreateJavaVM as stdcall, which
means name _JNI_CreateJavaVM@12. So it is necessary to change CUNIT tests to access harmonyvm.dll
using FindLibrary instead of linking against it directly.

> We would like for the eclipse launcher to be able to start the harmony vm using the JNI
invocation API.
> The eclipse launcher does not know anything about the port library. It looks for the
symbol "JNI_CreateJavaVM" and calls it. If we modify the eclipse launcher to find "_JNI_CreateJavaVM@12"
from the harmonyvm.dll, then the result is the following crash:
> Thread [1] (Suspended: Signal 'SIGSEGV' received. Description: Segmentation fault.)
> 2 harmonyvm!?classloader_find_native@@YAP6AXXZQAUMethod@@@Z()  0x00a8ecd8
> 1 <symbol is not available> 0x00000000
