import javax.swing.JFrame;
import javax.swing.JSlider;
import javax.swing.SwingConstants;
import javax.swing.UIDefaults;
import javax.swing.UIManager;
import javax.swing.UnsupportedLookAndFeelException;
import javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel;

public class SliderTest {

    public static void main(String[] args)
            throws UnsupportedLookAndFeelException {

        // Set up the look and feel to return BasicSliderUI
        UIManager.setLookAndFeel(new MetalLookAndFeel() {
            protected void initClassDefaults(UIDefaults uiDefs) {
                uiDefs.put("SliderUI", "javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicSliderUI"); //$NON-NLS-1$//$NON-NLS-2$

        JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test"); //$NON-NLS-1$
        frame.add(new JSlider(SwingConstants.HORIZONTAL, 0, 100, 50));
        frame.setSize(300, 150);
