Tony Wu commented on HARMONY-3307:
----------------------------------

Hi,
It is caused by the different system property "file.encoding" returned from vm. \
e.g.
In my locale, IBM vme returns "GB18030", Drlvm returns "8859-1" whereas RI return "GBK".

So the String.getBytes uses different encoding when print strings. I took a look at the spec
about the file.encoding and it is not documented anywhere, so we can set it to any meaningful
string and keep it as a acceptable difference.

> If one initializes String with value containing unicode simbol (\uxxxx) then it is printed
differently on drlvm and RI.
> Code:
> String ss = "dir\u3400";
> System.out.println(ss);
> Output.
> sun: dir?
> drlvm: dir->
