Subject [jira] Updated: (HARMONY-2145) [drlvm][jvmti] Compiled Method Load event - inlined method support
Date Mon, 04 Dec 2006 14:23:24 GMT

George Timoshenko updated HARMONY-2145:
---------------------------------------

    Attachment: H-2145_sizes.log

Eugene,

the situation you have caught with assert is absolutely normal.
We have methods:

append startAddr = 0x51fd2f1d size = 30
 toString startAddr = 0x51fd2f2d size = 20

'toString' is inlined into 'append'.
append is inlined into outer.
The both 'append' and 'toString' are inlined into outer in it's compilation session.

size - is a sum of method's instruction sizes. Instructions of 'toString' are not considered
as an instructions of 'append'.

> Current VM doesn't report Compiled Method Load event for methods that are inlined by
JIT.
> Though spec requires it to be sent for every compiled method:
> We need to add some function to interface between VM and JIT in order to let VM know
about inlined methods.
