Subject [jira] Updated: (HARMONY-2243) [classlib][swing] j.s.text.GlyphView incorrectly measures itself where text has tabs
Date Mon, 20 Nov 2006 12:55:03 GMT

Alexey A. Ivanov updated HARMONY-2243:
--------------------------------------

    Attachment: H2243-GlyphViewTest.patch

This new test case demonstrates the problem, however indirectly.
It looks like during layout process each of GlyphViews gets notified somehow where it will
be located, which is not the case for Harmony at the moment.

> In situations where text has tabs, javax.swing.text.GlyphView will incorrectly measure
itself which prevents the right layout.
> GlyphView doesn't measure itself directly, it delegates to GlyphPainter instance and
uses its getSpan() method. The method has x as one of its parameters, and it is used for tab
expansion, which does depend on start coordinate. And this x is always 0.0 in Harmony.
