Subject [jira] Updated: (HARMONY-986) [classlib][drlvm] VM crashed on the Compiler.compileClasses("zzzz") call
Date Wed, 26 Jul 2006 20:46:14 GMT

Gregory Shimansky updated HARMONY-986:
--------------------------------------

    Attachment: ULE.patch

The problem appears in reporting UnsatisfiedLinkError because Compiler.compileClasses native
method cannot be found. The message construction for this error has a bug, instead of character
strings memcpy accepts String * arguments which is definitely wrong. My patch fixes this and
you should see the following output when running your test:

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: java/lang/Compiler.compileClasses(Ljava/lang/String;)Z
        at CompTest.main(CompTest.java:3)

> The spec says for the method java.lang.Compiler.compileClasses(String)
> "Returns: true if the compilation succeeded; false if the compilation failed or no compiler
is available. "
> but DRLVM crashed while implementation of this class in the luni-kernel module is correct.
