I don't think there are going to be huge updates on this. 
What do want to change in the interfaces later on? I think it is pretty final.
There should be nothing that needs to be redesigned in the next few releases.

If user wants to implement their own synchronization server, why they have to use Hama?

Since which point in time is HAMA a synchronization server?
IMHO HAMA is a BSP framework, and the barrier is part of the paradigm, why comitting to ZooKeeper

A more free plugin capability is not huge deal. How many people use alternative schedulers
in Hadoop? Don't be so narrow-minded. 
Schedulers are not our "main" part, barrier synchronization is.

As you said, if it is just a tutorial, we can add them to wiki page.

YARN's distributed shell is a distinct module, although it is mainly a tutorial for people
writing ApplicationMasters.
