Subject [jira] [Created] (YARN-7256) Giving Yarn Application the Option to Black Out Certain Nodes On the Fly
Date Tue, 26 Sep 2017 19:23:00 GMT
Tanping Wang created YARN-7256:
----------------------------------

Summary: Giving Yarn Application the Option to Black Out Certain Nodes On the
Fly
                 Key: YARN-7256
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-7256
             Project: Hadoop YARN
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: applications
            Reporter: Tanping Wang
            Priority: Minor

The application should have the option to block out certain "bad" nodes at run time. A use
case is that if the tasks of an application fail on a particular node multiple times, the
application should be able to add the "bad" node to the "blacklist" for this application.
As the result, no other tasks of this application will be launched to the same node at run
time.
