Arun Suresh commented on YARN-5180:
-----------------------------------

[~kkaranasos],
bq. Thinking more about it, do we want the newInstance() of the ExecutionRequestType to be
false or rather true..
Further to [~kasha]'s reasoning.. I based it on the assumption that IMO, AMs should not make
strong assumptions/demands by default.. which implies that the default behavior is to be fine
with what ever the Scheduler gives it. Only special cases should warrant the AM explicitly
demanding that the scheduler gives it exactly what is asked.
bq. .. we might want to use enforceExecutionType instead of ensureExecutionType ..
Again, following from my previous point, i felt 'ensure..' is a more tempered request than
'enforce..' :) I would prefer to keep it as such, if you don't have any strong opinions.

Will correct the typo and w.r.t *Scheduling Authority*, I explicitly kept it that way, since
for distributed scheduling, it is not the Scheduler technically that leases the containers

> YARN-2882 introduced the concept of *ExecutionTypes*.
> YARN-4335 allowed AMs to specify the ExecutionType in the ResourceRequest.
> This JIRA proposes to add a boolean flag to the ResourceRequest to signal to the Scheduler
that the AM is fine receiving a Container with a different Execution type than what is asked.
