Junping Du commented on YARN-3411:
----------------------------------

Hi [~vrushalic], I had the same concern with [~zjshen]'s previous comments that we are putting
flow_version in column instead of keys which is different with current schema for Phoenix
patch. Putting a field as key or column could have different performance hint for writing
as only row key involve indexing but column is not (we don't have secondary index for now).
To make our performance test/comparison as apple-to-apple, may be we should keep consistent
between the two schema?

> There is work that's in progress to implement the storage based on a Phoenix schema (YARN-3134).
> In parallel, we would like to explore an implementation based on a native HBase schema
for the write path. Such a schema does not exclude using Phoenix, especially for reads and
offline queries.
> Once we have basic implementations of both options, we could evaluate them in terms of
performance, scalability, usability, etc. and make a call.
