Hi [~Naganarasimha], sorry for coming late. 
Just go through your latest patch, sounds like we don't have test to check app event get posted
to new timeline service? As most code in TestRMTimelineCollector are comment out. 
For new timeline service, we can only check timeline entity file exists instead of checking
detailed entity info (before Varun's read API is ready). You can check TestDistributedShell
(testDSShellWithoutDomainV2DefaultFlow) or my patch in YARN-3046 for MR metrics to new timeline
service as an example. We basically need an end-to-end test work here.
More comments may come later.
