Subject [jira] [Commented] (YARN-3304) ResourceCalculatorProcessTree#getCpuUsagePercent default return value is inconsistent with other getters

Anubhav Dhoot commented on YARN-3304:
-------------------------------------

ProcfsProcessTree#getCumulativeCpuTime is cumulative over time which makes sense for CPU.
The getCumulativeMem is really summing up snapshot value all for processes in the tree, which
is appropriate for memory. We could name it something other than cumulative to make it clearer.

> Per discussions in YARN-3296, getCpuUsagePercent() will return -1 for unavailable case
while other resource metrics are return 0 in the same case which sounds inconsistent.
