Mayank Bansal commented on YARN-563:

I am 100% in agreement with you guys that we need to have filtering and thats very important.
What I was trying to say (may be not clear at the first attempt) that we need new apis/interface
which can do filtering based on parameters and return the results required. lets say I want
application based on status/type/user/application name etc etc.

We did not do the filtering neither in CLI or web apps in scope of this JIRA. I will shortly
file the seprate JIRA and work on that for CLI and web apps.

Thanks for the review and will update the latest patch shortly.

> This field is needed to distinguish different types of applications (app master implementations).
For example, we may run applications of type XYZ in a cluster alongside MR and would like
to filter applications by type.
