Subject [jira] [Commented] (YARN-472) MR app master deletes staging dir when sent a reboot command from the RM
Date Tue, 19 Mar 2013 13:27:15 GMT

Jason Lowe commented on YARN-472:

{{Runtime.halt}} would be one brutally efficient way to stop the AM in its tracks, but I agree
it's probably best to simply follow the normal shutdown sequence but indicate via a flag or
other means that we don't want to copy the history file to the done_intermediate directory,
unregister, or clean the staging directory.

> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-472
> Project: Hadoop YARN
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Components: resourcemanager

> Attachments: YARN-472.1.patch
> If the RM is restarted when the MR job is running, then it sends a reboot command to
the job. The job ends up deleting the staging dir and that causes the next attempt to fail.
