FYI, a similar problem existed in the Ambari RPMs.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1870

It looks like the hadoop.spec needs some attention to make sure the 
resulting RPM does not claim ownership of paths reasonably owned by the 
platform itself, in this case filesystem.
