I agree with Daniel's point of using Executor, it'd be also good to me to not include all
the whitespace changes.

I ran the test locally without the fix, the test did not fail. I think this is due to any
Exception is swallowed in the thread executing manager.setup(). Using executor will also take
care of this easily.
