Subject [jira] Updated: (MAPREDUCE-1991) taskcontroller allows stealing permissions on any local file
Date Sat, 07 Aug 2010 00:36:19 GMT

Todd Lipcon updated MAPREDUCE-1991:
-----------------------------------

    Attachment: mapreduce-1991.txt

Here ya go - replaced LOG_FILE with stderr throughout, and removed the option parsing code.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to really test this patch in a cluster, since I don't have a secure
cluster setup based on trunk, but ant test-task-controller works.

> The linux task-controller setuid binary allows a malicious user to chmod any file on
the system to 644 (and as a side effect appends some junk to the end)
