(You know, it is a shame this was called ProcfsBasedProcessTree with the disclaimer that it
only works on Linux.  It probably should be renamed LinuxProcfsBasedProcessTree so that other
operating systems with /proc could work.  I suppose the alternative is to hack this code to
be multi-OS aware)
