Subject [jira] Commented: (MAPREDUCE-1637) Create a test for API compatibility between releases
Date Fri, 26 Mar 2010 17:38:27 GMT

Tom White commented on MAPREDUCE-1637:

As a first step, we can create a MapReduce program (in a new src/test/compat tree) which is
compiled and run first against the 0.20.2 MapReduce API, then compiled and run against the
trunk API. In later JIRAs we can increase the coverage of the API tested.

> We should have an automated test (or a set of tests) for checking that programs written
against an old version of the API still run with a newer version.
