Subject [jira] Commented: (MAPREDUCE-1159) Limit Job name on jobtracker.jsp to be 80 char long
Date Wed, 28 Oct 2009 18:15:59 GMT

Tsz Wo (Nicholas), SZE commented on MAPREDUCE-1159:

Should we make the limit configurable? Also, I think it would be good if the original job
name will be displayed as an alt-text. Otherwise, we cannot tell the difference if two jobs
share the same prefix.

> Sometimes a user submits a job with a very long job name. That made jobtracker.jsp very
hard to read.
> We should limit the size of the job name. User can see the full name when they click
on the job.
