> This works:
> create table tmp_jvs_fact_tz(x int)
> partitioned by (ds string, hr string, gmtoffset string);
> alter table tmp_jvs_fact_tz
> add partition (ds='2010-01-03', hr='1', gmtoffset='GMT-7');
> insert overwrite table tmp_jvs_fact_daily
> partition (ds='2010-01-03', hr='1', gmtoffset='GMT-7')
> select foo from pokes;
> But this does not:
> create table tmp_jvs_fact_tz(x int)
> partitioned by (ds string, hr string, gmtoffset string);
> alter table tmp_jvs_fact_tz
> add partition (ds='2010-01-03', hr='1', gmtoffset='-7');
> insert overwrite table tmp_jvs_fact_daily
> partition (ds='2010-01-03', hr='1', gmtoffset='-7')
> select foo from pokes;
> FAILED: Error in semantic analysis: line 2:11 Partition not found '-7'
