Subject [jira] Commented: (HIVE-679) Integrate JDBC driver with SQuirrelSQL for querying

Bill Graham commented on HIVE-679:
----------------------------------

Yes, database version should come from the Hive Server. Is this currently being returned by
the server?

Regarding the driver version I see two possible options: 1.) We use the svn revision number
as the version or 2.) We use the release version (i.e., 4.0). The former would be easiest
to support of course, since the latter would probably require a hard-coded constant that needs
to change from release to release. Any opinions either way?
