Subject [jira] Commented: (HIVE-777) CREATE TABLE with STRUCT type
Date Fri, 21 Aug 2009 02:09:14 GMT

He Yongqiang commented on HIVE-777:
-----------------------------------

We can easily support both. User can either use SPACE or : as the delimiter of column name
and column type.
For example:
create table abc (ads:struct<adid:int, loc:string>);
create table abc (ads:struct<adid int, loc string>);
create table abc (ads struct<adid:int, loc:string>);
create table abc (ads struct<adid int, loc string>);
are all correct.

> Currently we only support map/array in type definition.
> We should support STRUCT as well.
> {code}
> CREATE TABLE abc (
>   pageid INT,
>   ads STRUCT<adid:INT,location:STRING>,
>   userid INT
> );
> {code}
