Zheng Shao resolved HIVE-754.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Sorry, I tried but hadoop "unescaped" my string so that "<tt>" gets showed on the web

> Include <tt> tag in hive.query.string when sending to the jobtracker
> --------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: HIVE-754
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-754
> Project: Hadoop Hive
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Reporter: Adam Kramer
> When a hive job is running in Hadoop, the jobtracker page has a link to the job.xml page
(really jobdetails.jsp).
> On this page, hive.query.string is listed, so we can see what's going on with that query
(in case it's using lots of resources).
> However, the query is totally unreadable on that page, because HTML spec strips out the
newlines and whitespace. Those are actually included in the HTML _source_ (if you 'view source'
on the page, the query is clear and pretty).
> If, however, we were to wrap the whole hive.query.string argument in <tt> </tt>
tags, Apache would format it correctly on the job tracker page, and make understanding what's
going on a whole lot easier.
> I filed this improvement in Hadoop Common, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-6193
, because I think that ALL of the options should be provided in whitespace-preserving monowidth
text, but on the chance they mark it "won't fix," I think it's extra-special-important for
the case of hive.query.string.
