David Phillips commented on HIVE-31:
------------------------------------

This is commonly known as "CREATE TABLE AS SELECT" or "CTAS". Do we want to require the "AS"
keyword?

MySQL: optional
Oracle: required
PostgreSQL: required
SQLite: required

> Hive: support CREATE TABLE xxx SELECT yyy.* FROM yyy
> ----------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: HIVE-31
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-31
> Project: Hadoop Hive
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Zheng Shao
>
> We should allow users to create a table using query result, without specifying the column
names and column types.
