Hi Susheel,

You have to set in your hadoop-env.sh and yarn-env.sh the variabkes:

- HADOOP_PID_DIR
- YARN_PID_DIR

To point to some other directory (most common is /var/run/hadoop-hdfs
hadoop-yarn)
