Hi
=A0 =A0 It really can not downloading depende= nes from the https:// URLs.Maybe it need to setup available Proxy settings.= Yet I can
not got the right Proxy URL .so I change to =A0se= tup mirror settings in maven=A0conf/settings.xml :
=A0 =A0<mirror>=A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<id= >ibiblio.org</id>=A0
= =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<name>ibiblio Mirror of http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/</name>=A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<url>http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/pub/mirrors/maven2<= /url>=A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<mirrorOf>central</mi= rrorOf>=A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<!-- United States, North= Carolina -->=A0
=A0 =A0 =A0</mirror>
=A0 =A0 =A0<mirror> =A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<id>jboss-public-repository-group</id>= ; =A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<mirrorOf>central</mirrorOf>= =A0
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0<name>JBoss Public Repository Group= </name> =A0
=A0 =A0 =A0</mirror>=A0
<= div>
=A0 =A0 then everything goes well. then do what =A0following the=A0http://wiki.apache.or= g/hadoop/EclipseEnvironment =A0URL.
=A0 =A0 =A0if someb= ody also wants to checkout the hadoop project source and do want to working= with Hadoop under Eclipse.please setup that

Hi harsh.
=A0 =A0I actu= ally=A0= =A0prefer to use Eclipse for development,so i checkouted =A0the Hadoop sour= ces from git.
=A0 =A0I did this following the url:http://wiki.apac= he.org/hadoop/EclipseEnvironment
=A0 =A0Here are my steps:
=A0 =A01.git clone git:/= /git.= apache.org/hadoop-common.git

<= /div>
2.<= /span>[root@yyp6 hadoop-common]# pwd /opt/hadoop/hadoop-common [root@yyp6 hadoop-common]# ls BUILDING.txt hadoop-common-project hadoop-maven-plugins = hadoop-tools dev-support hadoop-dist hadoop-minicluster = hadoop-yarn-project hadoop-assemblies hadoop-hdfs-project hadoop-project = pom.xml hadoop-client hadoop-mapreduce-project hadoop-project-dist [root@yyp6 hadoop-common]#mvn install -DskipTests
and then it got stuck when downloadi= ng the dependences .

is there something wro= ng, or another good method to bulid the source for development = using=A0Eclipse=A0?

Are you trying to build a specific submodule here, i.e, under what
checked out directory are you running the "mvn install" under? I&= #39;d
recommend running it under the root of the checkout (the most parent
pom.xml) first before trying to build a specific sub-module.
