Subject RE: Version control of files present in HDFS

I'd imagine that you could point git or svn at HDFS mounted as regular
filesystem in user space (which works, but I've heard is a bit buggy). My
question is really what do you expect to gain by using HDFS this way (vs
NFS or a NAS filer for instance) ?
