Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-13196) Ozone: dozone: make example docker-compose files version independent
Date Wed, 28 Feb 2018 09:11:00 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-13196?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16380000#comment-16380000

Elek, Marton commented on HDFS-13196:

[~anu] Thank you for the testing:

The problem could be a timing issue (which is introduced earlier and independent from the
versioning problem). The SCM should be running when ksm is initialized.

I created and issue to handle this (HDFS-13203) and also updated the base image (HADOOP-15083)
with a workaround (it will be removed after HDFS-13203 but it's a quick workaround as of now):

 if [ -n "$ENSURE_KSM_INITIALIZED" ]; then
    if [ ! -f "$ENSURE_KSM_INITIALIZED" ]; then
+ #To make sure SCM is running in dockerized environment we will sleep
+ # Could be removed after HDFS-13203
+ echo "Waiting 15 seconds for SCM startup"
+ sleep 15
       /opt/hadoop/bin/hdfs ksm -createObjectStore

I also uploaded the latest proposed hadoop-runner version to the dockerhub with the name elek/hadoop-runner.

Could you please try this patch again after:

docker-compose down
docker-compose pull

I retested it after a clean run and it worked for me:

> The current version of the docker-compose files at dev-support/compose/ are version dependent
as the path of the dist folder should be added to the docker-compose file.
> In this patch I propose to add these compose files to the dist project and replace the
version number in the docker-compose files during the build.
> Please note: it doesn't mean that the docker-compose files are part of the distribution.
The compose files are copied to hadoopd-dist/target/compose which is not part of the hadoop
> This patch is aligned with HADOOP-15257 which uses exactly the same approach to provide
example docker-compose file for hdfs cluster.
