Thanks [~manojg] and [~zhz]. I have committed patch to trunk, branch-3.0, branch-2, branch-2.8 and branch 2.8.2. Besides the branch-2 diff mentioned above, the patch for branch-2.8/branch.2.8.2 is slightly different in the unit tests as maintenance state only exists in branch-2 and above.
