From a build and distro perspective, the issues that I'm aware of: * hdfs-client jar is in the dependency directory instead of the primary jar directory. * The C client is only getting compiled as part of the nightlies (HDFS-10848). * The unit tests and documentation for the C client can't be reached from maven at all (this one). We should probably merge this one and HDFS-10848 and smash both bits into hdfs-client.
